Cross an ocean on your own boat, and arrive as her skipper.
How I work as a captain, mentor and sailing coach
On an owner assisted delivery I am the captain of record. Insurance and maritime law require a licensed skipper, and that’s my role. But captain is only half the job. The other half is mentor and coach, and to help you become a better sailor and captain.
Every planning decision is made collaboratively, weather window, route, watch system, sail plan, contingencies, and I explain the why behind each one. By the time we arrive, you’ll have done the work, made the calls, stood the watches, and earned the title of captain on your own boat. You’ll leave with a logged ocean passage and a written skipper reference for your records and your insurer. My SAS Yachtmaster Offshore is the qualification most cruising insurers look for; the deliveries behind it matter just as much.
What owners say
“Chris demonstrated a deep understanding of offshore passage making. His approach to offshore decision making was calm, analytical, and grounded in experience. We would not hesitate to sail with Chris again.”

“Captain Chris was a perfect choice for our family. His emphasis on safety, comfort, and a can do spirit gave us the peace of mind for long passages. Well mannered, good humoured, and a natural teacher, he made us better sailors too, including our boys. We can recommend him without hesitation.”
